James Koval is an Australian public policy and strategic advising specialist with over decade of experience in government and public policy roles.

James’ passion is in framing issues and identifying solutions, bringing people together, and implementing policy change with impact.

He has built experience in the research, development, and implementation of public policy and in providing high-level strategic counsel to senior executives, whether they be Vice-Chancellors, Ministers, or CEOs.

In his current role, James oversees the development of policy positions, best-practice guidance, external engagement, and the development of thought leading research for the peak-body of Australia’s $4.5 trillion superannuation sector.

James holds a bachelor degree from the Australian National University and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Sydney.

James has been recognised as one of Australia’s top emerging executives, being named one of the Australian Financial Review’s BOSS Young Executives for 2026.
